The Product
cTrader is Spotware’s flagship trading platform solution and a brand trusted by millions of traders worldwide in the Forex and CFD trading space.
cTrader is a multi-asset platform with a vast range of markets. It offers manual, copy and automated trading covering all type of traders’ needs. cTrader features advanced analytical tools, a wide range of order types and responsive charts with more than 70 indicators. It comes in the desktop, web, Android and iOS mobile versions that support the entire trader lifecycle.

Problem The Project Was Intended to Solve
The Company decided to completely rebuild the old cTrader Mobile app on Xamarin technology in preparation for the next milestone where such services as cTrader Copy, Analyze and Trading Events Feed will be integrated to create the All-in-One experience on mobile. This is where was an opportunity to completely re-design the application with Android and iOS native design patterns to give the best possible user experience everywhere we could.
As mobile trading platforms constantly gain in popularity, it was very important to cover this segment of traders, to offer a convenient and fast on-the-go solution to trade anywhere anytime.
My Role
UX/UI designer. Completely re-designed the app from the ground up following the Android and iOS guidelines and created design system. Designed new features for further releases.

The application was completely redesigned following the Android Guidelines as much as possible.

Tablet Layout
Tablet (multi-pane) layout design and implementation was postponed because we have only 2% of tablet users, and for stakeholders this task had the lowest priority compared to other development tasks. Therefore, the layout of the app is not adapted specifically for tablets yet.

Results
The new cTrader Mobile Beta was published in Google Play and AppStore and was now ready to start its transition to next versions.
Some traders still favoured the old app despite the new app being faster and easier to use (for new users). So the initial release of redesigned app wasn’t smooth sailing. Brokers like Pepperstone, IC Markets and FxPro have re-launched the legacy cTrader mobile app for iOS and Android, making both the new and old apps available simultaneously:
Later cTrader Mobile received an award 'Best Mobile Trading Platform 2017' at China Forex Expo.

Further Improvement of the Product
We strive to constantly improve the product and currently working hard on the next major version of cTrader Mobile and new exciting features to ensure that we deliver what traders and brokers expect.
We collect feedback from users (traders) via cTrader Community Forum (https://ctrader.com/, https://ctrader.com/forum/suggestions) and cTrader Official Telegram Chat (https://t.me/cTrader_Official), as well as from our clients (brokers).
With Firebase and Mixpanel we run A/B tests and experiments, collect behaviour analytics — all to verify our hypotheses about cTrader Mobile design and experience, to get insights about how users use the app, which features and trade settings traders use more frequently, etc.
